Raised on a ranch in Durango, Colorado, you could say Peter Earl, MD, FACOG, has his own mini-version of a ranch of sorts at his home. He and his wife, Linda Lee, and their daughter, Madeline, enjoy life with a ShiTzu (Kizmet), two Poodles (Jean Luc and Mikey), a Jack Russell Terrier (Pippy Sue), a Rat Terrier (Cookie), an African Gray Parrot (Poppy), a Tabby Cat (Muffin), and a host of Angora rabbits. (Linda Lee Earl not only breeds Angoras, she’s also a home educator and former national champion spinner and weaver.)
When not providing care through Seasons at Abingdon, Dr. Earl considers it a privilege to provide leadership as the medical director of the Blue Ridge Women’s Center, Roanoke (a crisis pregnancy center).
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Earl has more than two decades of obstetrics & gynecology experience.
Dr. Earl graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in English from Hobar College, Geneva, New York. He also has a bachelor of arts in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver. Dr. Earl completed post-graduate training at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona.
A member of the Society of Laparascopic Surgeons, Dr. Earl is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists. He is also a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Earl’s professional interests include urogynecology, pelvic prolapse, menopausal medicine, endometriosis, and minimally-invasive surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Earl enjoys ice hockey, camping, travel, pen turning (making fountain pens) and fly-fishing. He and his family are active at Highlands Christian Fellowship, Abingdon.

Scott Fowler, MD, FACOG

Known by his patients for his provision of attentive, compassionate care, Scott Fowler, MD, is an incredibly multi-faceted obstetrician & gynecologist. In fact, he’s not only a doctor, but also a lawyer and a pilot, receiving his pilot license at age 16.
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Fowler received an undergraduate degree in philosophy and politics from Earlham College, Richmond, Ind., where he met his wife, Melisa Kavan, of Istanbul, Turkey.
He went on to graduate from honors from the University of Georgia, Athens, with a juris doctor degree in law. He received a doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, where he again, graduated with honors.
In addition to the completion of an obstetric & gynecology internship at the Medical College of Georgia and residency training at Louisiana State University, New Orleans, Dr. Fowler received specialty training at Charity Hospital, New Orleans, with special exposure to urogynecology, pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence surgery.
It was after an extensive search of one of the best places in America to raise a family, that he, his wife, Melisa, and their three children, Lisa, Elizabeth and Emily, made their home in Kingsport. Dr. Fowler then founded Blue Ridge Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2000, which later became Seasons at Kingsport.
Dr. Fowler’s areas of special medical interest include urinary incontinence, uterine prolapse, minimally-invasive surgeries and reproductive genetics.

Deana L. Harmon, DO

Deana Harmon, DO, is a woman of many interests—from her Himalayan cat, Brady, to water sports, art, music (especially the blues), interior decorating, travel and cultural studies. Yet, her most passionate interest? The provision of excellence in women’s health.
Raised in coalfields of southern West Virginia, Dr. Harmon received a bachelor of science in biology with a chemistry minor, graduating magna cum laude from Marshall University, Huntington, W. Va. She went on to receive her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg. She completed a combined obstetric & gynecology internship and residency at the Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc, Mich., a partnership training site of Michigan State University.
With an avid interest in adolescent health, pelvic floor reconstruction, laparoscopic hysterectomy and urinary incontinence, Dr. Harmon is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Additionally, she is a member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.

Chad Jarjoura, MD, known for an avid interest in leading-edge women’s health procedures has an inside track on women’s health issues—his wife, Amal Khoury, PhD, is a professor and women’s health researcher at ETSU’s College of Public Health.
With his gentle manner and attentive, patient-centered focus, Dr. Jarjoura has special medical interest in infertility, urinary incontinence, minimally-invasive surgery, and advanced laparoscopic hysterectomy.
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Jarjoura received his doctorate of Medicine from St. Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon. He completed obstetric & gynecology internship & residency training at multiple health care institutions, including: American University of Beirut Medical Center, Beirut, Lebanon; Seton Hall University School of Graduate Medical Education, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Patterson, NJ.; Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine; St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, Ohio.
Dr. Jarjoura is a Fellow in both the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons.
When not providing progressive women’s health care, Dr. Jarjoura most enjoys spending time with his wife and children, Joelle and Jerome. The Jarjoura family enjoys traveling and spending time together outdoors. They attend St. Dominic Catholic Church in Kingsport.

An accomplished obstetrician & gynecologist passionate about the provision of leading-edge care for women, Jeffrey R. Looney, MD, is also an avid reader, enjoying the latest novels by his favorite authors, including Michael Crichton, Dan Brown and J.K. Rowling.
Board certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Looney, was raised in Jackson, Tenn.
With a bachelor of science in biology and medical technology from Union University, Jackson, Tenn., Dr. Looney received a doctorate of medicine from the University of Tennessee, Memphis, where he also completed an obstetric and gynecology internship and residency training.
The recipient of numerous honors and awards, Dr. Looney is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association and the American Medical Association.
He and his wife, Lorri, have two children: Blake and Alison. They make their home with a Daschund named Buddy. While not practicing medicine, Dr. Looney enjoys time on the lake, boating and fishing, or time in the mountains snowboarding.

David Marden, DO, FACOG

A champion for empowering women with innovative medicine, David Marden, DO, is known as a pioneer in leading-edge, minimally-invasive women’s health solutions. As a physician-trainer for emerging procedures, Dr. Marden was the first Tri-Cities surgeon to perform site-specific vaginal reconstruction and several advanced laparoscopic procedures, including TVT and TOT (procedures to correct stress urinary incontinence). Dr. Marden is one of only a handful of surgeons nationwide skilled in laser vaginal rejuvenation and designer laser vaginoplasty, two newly emerging procedures.
As an associate professor at Cenegenics® Medical Institute (an age management clinic located in Las Vegas, Nevada) and an advocate of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, Dr. Marden desires to help women achieve their maximum potential in health and wellness.
A native of San Francisco, Calif., Dr. Marden is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Prior to receiving his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Pomona, Calif., he received an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology at California State University, Chico, Calif. He completed an obstetric & gynecology internship at the Fitzsimmons Army Medical Hospital and his residency training at Saint Joseph Hospital.
Committed to the refinement of his skills through extensive continuing education regarding women’s health issues and anti-aging medicine, Dr. Marden is a frequent lecturer within the Tri-Cities.
In addition to serving as an associate professor within the East Tennessee State University Department of Surgery & Family Medicine, Dr. Marden is an associate of the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute Medical Associates, Inc. He provides LVR and DLV for women at the new Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of the Smoky Mountains (www.lvrsmokymountains.com).
He and his wife, Sonya Marden, DO, enjoy spending time with their two children, Drake and Trask, most enjoying sports and travel as a family.

As one of only a few certified nurse midwives in the Tri-Cities region, Donna McDonald, CNM, MSN, is passionate about her profession.
Believing it is important to empower women to be the best that they can be, Donna most enjoys teaching women about their bodies and the importance of preventive health in an effort to optimize overall well-being.
With an undergraduate degree from Walters State Community College, Morristown, Tenn., Donna received her masters of science in nursing from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
She received nurse midwife certification through the Frontier School of Midwifery/Family Nursing, Hyden, Ky.
Donna’s special medical interests include obstetric care and delivery, breast feeding education, sexual dysfunction counseling and women’s health research.
When not caring for women, Donna most enjoys reading, horticulture and travel. Travel destinations of special interest include Costa Rica, France and Bermuda.

At the end of the day and after offering breast feeding tips, answering adolescent health concerns, sexual health questions and offering bio-identical hormone replacement advice, you may find Cynthia McGlothlin, WHNP, at home chasing her toddler, Katelyn—or in the midst of a table of photographs, stickers and cropping tools, enjoying her latest passion of scrapbooking.
Board certified through the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecology and Neonatal Nursing Specialities, Cynthia received her bachelor of science in nursing from Radford University, Radford, Va. She went on to receive her masters of science in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond.
A native of Richlands, Virginia, Cynthia and her husband, Mark, enjoy spending time as a family at the lake.

Known for his caring, quiet-spoken and attentive patient interaction, Jeffrey McQueary, MD, is a leading women’s health surgeon within the Tri-Cities. He’s also one of the original co-founders of Seasons at Bristol (formerly Highlands Physicians for Women).
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. McQueary received his undergraduate degree at Pacific Union College, Angwin, Calif. He received his doctorate of medicine from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Calif., where he also completed an obstetric & gynecology internship. It was during his residency training at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, where Dr. McQueary became acquainted with Drs. Samuel and Scruggs.
Dr. McQueary’s special medical interests include urinary incontinence and pelvic prolapse.
Like Drs. Samuel and Marden, Dr. McQueary is also a California native who has fallen in love with the beauty of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
When not providing leading-edge women’s health care, Dr. McQueary enjoys hiking and coin collecting. He’s also enjoys modern, realism watercolor art.
He and his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Benjamin, Daniel and Rachel, are members of Celebration Church.

With his most avid interests being his wife, Catherine, and his two sons, Blake and Patrick, Christopher Mitchell, MD, is an accomplished women’s health specialist skilled in minimally-invasive, leading-edge surgical procedures, including advanced laparoscopic hysterectomy.
With a wide range of personal interests—from water skiing, flying and SCUBA diving to boating, auto racing and watching college football—his leisure-time passion as of late is providing leadership in Boys Scouts and Little League baseball.
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Mitchell received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He received a masters of science in physiology from East Tennessee State University prior to the completion of his doctorate of medicine, also at ETSU. As an Abingdon, Va., native and a physician who has practiced medicine in his hometown for more than three decades, James D. Moore, Jr., could tell many stories. As a man who has shared in the joy of delivering the grandchildren of some of his first patients, Dr. Moore has had the rare privilege of sharing some of life’s most tender moments.
Board certified by the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Moore received a bachelor of science from Florida Presbyterian College, St. Petersburg, Fla. He received his doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, where he also completed his obstetric & gynecology post-graduate training.
Focusing his practice on gynecological medicine, Dr. Moore’s special interests include menopause and preventative medicine.
He and his wife, Judith, are the proud parents of two adult children: Jimmy and Heather. A shared passion in their lives is their grandson, Tyler.
Dr. Moore has been active in the Historic Fairview Log Homestead Restoration/Preservation Project. Additionally, he greatly enjoys contemporary glass art and agriculture.

As one of the original co-founders of Seasons at Bristol (formerly Highlands Physicians for Women), Dennis Samuel, MD, is passionate when it comes to the provision of women’s health excellence. Those who know him personally, also know he’s passionate about cooking, the opera and enjoying fine wines—a clear correlation to his Southern California heritage, growing up near the heart of wine country.
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Samuel received his undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University, Lexington, Va. He received his doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, where he also completed his obstetric & gynecology internship and residency training.
Dr. Samuel’s special medical interests include progressive treatment for urinary incontinence and infertility. He’s also skilled in laparoscopic hysterectomy and other leading-edge minimally-invasive women’s health procedures.
In his free time, Dr. Samuel also enjoys spending time outdoors fishing and hiking. He and his wife, Cindy, especially enjoy time with their daughter, Torey Bates. The Samuel family attends the First Presbyterian Church, Bristol, where Dr. Samuel serves as an elder.

Katherine Scruggs, MD, is not only an outstanding obstetrician & gynecologist, she’s quite the accomplished chef and gardener, enjoying flower arranging and all of nature’s eclectic beauty.
A native of Charlottesville, Va., Dr. Scruggs is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. She went on to receive her doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Virginia, Charlottesville, where she also completed her obstetric & gynecology internship and residency training.
Known for her compassionate care, Dr. Scruggs is skilled in pediatric GYN exams as well as counseling pre- and post-menopausal women. Additionally, she is an accomplished surgeon, skilled in laparoscopic, minimally-invasive procedures.
A community-enthusiast, Dr. Scruggs enjoys the Theatre Bristol and providing leadership at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Sullivan County. She and her husband, Pete, a realtor, are members of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. They make their home with their canine friends Malcolm, Angus and Congo.

A native of Kentucky, Dr. Stevens received her doctorate of osteopathy from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine, Ky. She completed an internship and residency training in obstetrics & gynecology at Grandview and Southview Hospitals.
She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists.
She and her husband Todd enjoy the privilege of raising two sons, Will and Ben.
